William Nelson Carlton Weiser, 85, of Cassopolis, Michigan, passed away peacefully on June 6, 2026, in Cassopolis. He was born on June 15, 1940, in Mishawaka, Indiana, to the late Samuel and Bertha Weiser.

William shared a loving marriage of fifty-five years with his beloved wife, Marilyn Weiser. The couple was united in marriage on July 31, 1971, in Niles, Michigan, and together built a life centered on faith, family, service, and love.

Left to cherish his memory are his wife, Marilyn Weiser; his children, William (Kim) Nelson Carlton Weiser Jr., Sally (William) Evans, Scott Weiser, Nathan (Mitzi) Pickens, Deborah (Gary) Sheaks, and Donna (Jockquail) Dancy; ten grandchildren; twenty-four great-grandchildren; and one great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, William was preceded in death by his siblings, George Weiser, Samuel Weiser, and Ethel Weiser; and by his beloved grandchildren, Alula and Alyssa.

William was a skilled welder who spent many years mastering his trade. A lifelong learner, he continuously taught himself new techniques and skills throughout his career and proudly dedicated more than twenty years of service to Garden City Fan Company. Known as a true jack-of-all-trades, William rarely met a hobby he wasn't willing to try. He enjoyed woodworking, gardening, singing, playing the harmonica, and spending time fishing—though family members would jokingly agree that only Marilyn could rival his talents on the water. Among his many accomplishments, he was especially proud of his legendary stovetop popcorn recipe, which became a favorite among family and friends.

A man of deep faith, William devoted much of his life to ministry, serving as a minister for many years. His commitment to helping others extended beyond the church walls through decades of volunteer work. He faithfully dedicated over twenty years to The Apostolic Truth Prison Ministry Organization and also volunteered with Big Brothers Big Sisters, mentoring and encouraging young people. William's servant's heart, compassion, and willingness to share his time touched countless lives.

Funeral services for William will be held on Thursday, June 11, at Brown Funeral Home. Visitation will take place from 11:00 a.m. until 12:00 p.m., with funeral services beginning at 12:00 p.m., officiated by Pastor Carl Adams. Following the service, William will be laid to rest at Mission Hills Memorial Gardens.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in William's honor may be made to Helping Hands of Cass County, 130 S. Broadway Street, Cassopolis, MI 49031.

Those who knew William will remember his quick wit, playful sense of humor, and love of making others laugh. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather, great-great grandfather, minister, mentor, and friend whose legacy of faith, kindness, and service will continue to inspire those who were blessed to know him.
